Guided by the Holy Spirit, Cross in the Woods offers the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program and also for older children as well.
The rite of Christian initiation program is designed for unbaptized adults or older children who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts. (RCIA, No.1)
After discerning to enter into the Catholic Church, unbaptized adults and older children are formed in the teachings and practices of Catholicism and are fully initiated into the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Sometimes the process includes baptized adult Christians or Catholics who are preparing to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. RCIA candidates typically enter into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil in front of the parish community.
